About the journal
Quiet Harbor Path is an independent online journal about Japanese architecture. We write about the buildings, gardens, towns and ideas that make Japanese space distinctive — from ancient shrines and tea houses to the concrete, glass and timber of contemporary studios.
What we publish
- Stories on individual buildings and the people who made them;
- Ideas that explain Japanese spatial concepts in plain language;
- Travel notes for readers who want to see the architecture in person;
- News about exhibitions, openings and preservation efforts.
Our approach
We write slowly and check our facts. Where we rely on published sources, we use reputable references such as official sites, museum materials and established architectural literature. If you spot an error, please let us know and we will correct it.
